Fundsmith sponsors cycle jerseys for Bowel & Cancer Research
Fund management company Fundsmith has teamed up with Bowel & Cancer Research to sponsor cycle jerseys for the charity’s fundraisers.
Chief Executive Terry Smith agreed to help out when approached by one of his clients, Paul Reynolds, who now chairs the charity and was about to take part in a 100km cycling event.
“We’d sponsored the GPM10 cycling team before. We also have clients who are suffering from bowel cancer, so we said ‘yes’,” said Terry.
As a keen cyclist - he’s done London to Paris twice - Terry also knows how important it is to have the right kit.
The charity was delighted. “Cyclists really need more than a t-shirt when they’re pedalling hundreds of miles to raise money for us, but proper jerseys are beyond the reach of most charities. These are a godsend,” said Chief Executive Deborah Gilbert.
Terry will be wearing his own pink and blue Bowel & Cancer Research jersey with pride when he and Paul Reynolds tackle the Cape Argus Cycle Tour in South Africa in March, the largest timed cycle race in the world.
